Yield here is the last twelve months of payments actually made, divided by the current unit price. It is not a forecast, and it is not the rate the fund promises — monthly distributions are declared per cycle and do change.
What it does not tell you
A high yield can mean a generous fund or a falling price, and the arithmetic cannot tell you which. Read it next to total return, which is the only figure that accounts for what the price did while you were being paid.
